Commitment to achieving Net Zero
A+G Architects is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by , in line with UK Government targets. We are signed up to ‘Architects Declare’ demonstrating our commitment to combatting the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets
We aim to reduce our total emissions by 25% by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. This includes switching to green energy, reducing travel, and improving digital workflows.
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to approximately 6–11 tCOâ‚‚e by 2030. This is a reduction of 25%.
Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been implemented. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes is estimated at 2–4 tCOâ‚‚e, representing a 15–25% reduction against the 2025 baseline. These measures will be in effect when performing the contract and include:

-
ISO 14001 accreditation
-
Green energy supplier
-
Cycle-to-work initiative
-
Remote working and reduced commuting
-
Paperless workflows and digital design tools
Future carbon reduction initiatives
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
-
Formal carbon accounting and annual reporting
-
Joining the Supply Chain Sustainability School
-
Further reduction in Scope 3 emissions via sustainable procurement
-
Exploring PAS 2060 certification
