Regeneration in Coalville

2 Jul 2018

A+G Architects have recently secured a planning permission for the conversion of a disused property, in a prominent location in Coalville, to form 11 new dwellings and give the building's facade a much needed second chance.

The proposals seek to bring about a significant improvement to the current appearance of the building which have been the subject of insensitive repair works over a considerable period of time. Recent research has revealed more elaborate architectural features that have either been removed or covered over in the past. The current scheme proposes to restore some of these features as well as a general tidying up of the building's appearance with a view of improving the quality of the frontage and roof-scape.

This scheme will help ensure that long term successful repair and restoration takes place in a prominent part of the Coalville Conservation Area in a way which will improve the building's architectural interest, help improve the appearance of the area and hopefully assist the regeneration of the town centre.
